WEST LAVANT BARNS
Location: West Lavant, Chichester
Year: - 2015
+ Info
The redevelopment site for the West Lavant barn conversion is located on the western edge of Lavant, West Sussex. The barns, dating from the early 19th century, were originally used as granaries, as well as for cart storage and for the threshing and drying of grain.
The development includes formal areas of hand landscaping for vehicular and pedestrian access, with pathways supplemented by ornamental planting. The soft landscape reinforces and enhances the existing landscape and ecological features.
Existing tree cover is enhanced with additional native tree planting, and the site boundaries are improved with native hedgerows, tree and understorey shrub planting, and areas of wildflower grassland.
Our team provided expert landscape design and ecological services for this project. With our professional support and guidance, the development was able to harmoniously integrate with the surrounding environment, promoting biodiversity and sustainability.
